Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Jilin Vocational College of Science and Technology signed a Cooperation agreement

On January 28, an online meeting was held between representatives of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Jilin Vocational College of Science and Technology. The main outcome of the meeting was the signing of an agreement on international cooperation and the launch of joint educational programs.

Director Li Lianhai, Vice President Ma Cungang, Dean of the College of International Exchanges Zhao Fujun, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Center Zhang Dong and Head of International Exchange Programs Sun Ying attended the meeting on behalf of the Jilin Vocational College of Science and Technology.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was represented by Liavontsi Paulau, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Alexandr Vorontsov, Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, Tatiana Vankova, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Alena Belakoz, Head of the Internationalization Education Centre, Volha Minava, Head of the International Cooperation Department, Alesia Belko, Head of the Department of International Projects and Academic Mobility, and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Translation and intercultural communication, translator Wang Tao. The meeting was moderated by the Dean of the College of International Exchanges, Zhao Fujun.

Opening the meeting, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Liavontsi Paulau expressed the readiness of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno to cooperate in various areas. He supported joint training programs for specialists in the fields of Mechatronics and Applied Computer Technologies proposed by Chinese colleagues. The programs are designed for secondary school graduates and people with the same qualifications and will take place over three years. The main purpose of the joint programs is to train highly qualified personnel with deep knowledge and technical skills in the fields of mechanical engineering and computer technology.

The parties also discussed the development of academic mobility of staff for internships and lectures, the creation of opportunities for graduates of the Jilin Vocational College of Science and Technology to study for a master's degree and then at the graduate school of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, and joint scientific, educational and cultural events.

The meeting resulted in the signing of an Agreement on international cooperation between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Jilin Vocational College of Science and Technology.

For reference: Jilin Vocational College of Science and Technology is a higher professional educational institution in Jilin Province. It is based on four key areas: transportation applications, medical education management, intelligent manufacturing, and information media.

In the field of personnel training, the college adheres to the "2+1" model, according to which students receive theoretical knowledge in the first two years, and in the third year they undergo an internship.

Cooperation between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Jilin Vocational College of Science and Technology is actively developing. On November 14, 2025, an online meeting was held between the educational institutions to discuss promising areas of cooperation. At the meeting, the Chinese side initiated a visit to the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and expressed great interest in developing and implementing joint educational programs in 2026.

"Flame of Inspiration and Talent": exhibition of works by international students opened at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

Today, on February 25, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted the grand opening of an exhibition of works by international students of the Department of Fine Arts entitled "Flame of Inspiration and Talent".

The event was opened by Iryna Kiturka, Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. In her speech, Iryna Kiturka once again congratulated the students from the People's Republic of China on the New Year, which runs from February 17 to March 3. Iryna Kiturka highly appreciated the presented works, noting that they reflect cultural traditions that contribute to strengthening intercultural dialogue at the university.

– I am sure that the professionalism of our teachers and the warmth of the hearts of our staff will allow you to take a piece of Belarus to your Homeland! – rector emphasized.

The exhibition presents the works of students from different countries, demonstrating their skills and cultural diversity. The exhibition includes works made in various techniques and styles. Visitors can get acquainted with acrylic paintings, samples of decorative and applied art, author's dolls, vytinanka, as well as landscapes, still-lifes and story compositions.

The exhibition, which is located in the lobby of the 2nd floor of the main building of the University at 22 Ozheshko str., can be visited by anyone.

Kupala Dictation was held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

Mother Tongue Day is celebrated all over the world on February 21. Today, on February 23, the university hosted the traditional Kupala Dictation, which is dedicated not only to the International Mother Tongue Day, but also to the 86th anniversary of our Alma mater.

- This Kupala Dictation is dedicated to various holidays: International Mother Tongue Day, which we all celebrated on February 21. February 22 is the birthday of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, we celebrated the 86th anniversary of our Alma mater. And today, February 23, is the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces Republic of Belarus. And therefore, dear men and young people who will still defend our Fatherland, I wish you good health and prosperity. I wish that all your dreams come true and that the Lord would always be with you, that he would send you a guardian angel and give you his blessing", Iryna Kiturka noted.

This year, the participants of the Kupala Dictation were invited to feel the lines of Vladimir Korotkevich with their hearts: His poetic work "God Lives in Belarus" was chosen for dictation, which was read with special expressiveness and emotion by Iryna Kiturka, rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

Team of YKSUG entered the top five at the cyber-competition "Cybersecurity in Finance"

The team of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno "Beavers0" successfully competed in cybersecurity competitions and took fifth place.

On February 19, Yekaterinburg hosted the final of the Youth Program of the Cybersecurity in Finance Forum. The event was attended by the Beavers0 team from Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, which included 2nd-year students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science Ivan Savanets, Nikita Kisel, Alexey Chichkan and 3rd-year students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science Ivan Konopatsky and Gleb Shadura.

Their path to the finals was not easy. Almost 1,600 students from 123 cities of Russia and the Republic of Belarus, studying in the fields of information and cybersecurity, applied for participation in the cyberchampionage. During the qualifying stage, the participants received practical training on information security from the Bank of Russia, followed by an online stage in the CTF competition format. As a result, the 10 strongest teams went to the intramural stage in Yekaterinburg to compete for prizes.

In the semi-finals, the teams were tested on a cyber-polygon that simulates the vulnerabilities of companies' digital infrastructure. This test was completed by 5 teams that qualified for the finals. The Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno team was among the finalists.

As a result of the final stage of the cyber championship, the Beavers0 team of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took the fifth place, demonstrating their knowledge and incredible desire to win.

Today, on February 17, the lobby of the main building was filled with a festive atmosphere on the occasion of the Chinese New Year. Staff, teachers and students were able to receive predictions for the year, write their name in Chinese, and listen to live music, which made the event truly festive. The action was organized by Internationalization Education Centre of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

On February 18, within the framework of the project "Ban Mo (Ruben. Mozi) College" and the Chinese New Year celebrations, teachers, staff and students of the Humanitarian College of the Higher State University named after Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, representatives of the Qingdao Higher Pedagogical Special School of Preschool Education, as well as foreign students of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno visited Kindergarten No. 108 in Grodno.

The acquaintance with the preschool education institution began with a visit to the mini-museum "Land under the White Wings" and its thematic areas. The guests were able to get acquainted with the surroundings of the Belarusian house in the Belarusian Hut exhibition, touch the history in the thematic area "Through the centuries, through the years, remember!" and get acquainted with Belarus in the section "Local History (modern Belarus)".

A key part of the visit was getting to know the educational process of the kindergarten. Under the guidance of the head of the preschool education institution, the delegation attended visual arts classes, where children engaged in application, physical education and swimming lessons.

Also, representatives of the Qingdao Higher Pedagogical Special School were able to get acquainted with the specifics of catering in kindergarten.

At the end of the visit, students from the College of Humanities performed creative performances dedicated to Chinese culture in front of the children.

Thus, representatives of higher educational institutions were not only able to get acquainted with the work of the kindergarten, but also gave the children a festive atmosphere.

Philology students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno listened to lectures from a visiting professor

On February 12, in the framework of the Cooperation Agreement with the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted distance classes for students with Kirill Shishigin, Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages.

Students of the specialties "Modern foreign languages" and "Romano-Germanic Philology" attended the lectures.

In two lectures, the visiting professor touched upon one of the urgent problems of modern linguistics, "hybridization of languages." During his speech, he elaborated on the processes of linguistic interaction, the transformation of permanent linguistic norms, as well as the impact of globalization processes on the formation of hybrid language models.

Maxim Golyshek, a 4th-year student specializing in Modern Foreign Languages, shared his impressions of the lecture:

The lectures were very interesting. I especially liked that everything was explained using examples. The teacher often linked what he was talking about with Belarusian works and the history of Belarus. It made it easier to understand the topic.

The Visiting Professor program, which is actively used by Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, is aimed at improving the quality of education and broadening the horizons of students. In addition, such events make it possible to expand cooperation between universities and strengthen friendly relations between them.

Graduation ceremony for graduates from China was held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

On February 5, a graduation ceremony was held for graduates from the People's Republic of China who studied under a pilot project in a shortened period at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

Before the start of the celebration, Marina Karpickaya, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, addressed the participants of the meeting, who congratulated the students from China on graduation, and also expressed the hope that the acquired knowledge and skills would contribute to the development of the economy and become the basis for further development of professional competencies. In addition, the heads of departments, teachers and curators of the groups congratulated the graduates.

Graduation certificates were awarded to 27 graduates. Of these, 6 studied in the specialty "Finance and Credit" and 21 in the specialty "Economics and Enterprise Management".

Russian Biotechnological University has received proposals to cooperate in the framework of online and other joint educational programs, including integrated learning programs, academic exchange programs for students and teachers, internships, professional retraining and advanced training, lectures under the Visiting Professor program, preparation and holding of joint conferences, seminars, symposiums, competitions with the participation of students and university staff, conducting joint research, as well as collaboration on articles, patents, and grants.

The parties expressed mutual interest in the implementation of the proposals received and came to a common agreement on their implementation.

This meeting was an important step in cooperation and will open up new opportunities for students and teachers of both universities.

On February 10, the heads of the technical schools assigned to the Yangier branch of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology visited Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The topic of the meeting was the discussion of cooperation between universities.

The meeting was attended by Director of Angren City Technical School No. 4 Nuritdin Mirzayev and director of Yangiersk City Technical School Dilfuza Umerova. The parties also discussed educational cooperation, which includes the organization of internships for teachers of secondary specialized institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, lectures by professors of YKSUG for students of technical schools and admission of graduates of technical schools to bachelor's degree programs at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

It should be noted that this meeting was held as part of a two-day visit of the Uzbek delegation to Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. On the first day of the visit, on February 9, the guests visited the Lida College of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, and today they have already managed to get acquainted with the Technical College. In both educational institutions, the delegation of the Yangier branch of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology held talks on cooperation.

This visit was an important step in strengthening educational cooperation between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

For reference: Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno has been cooperating with higher education institutions and organizations in Uzbekistan for a long time. It was founded in 2009, when a cooperation agreement was signed with the Tashkent Automobile and Road Institute (now Tashkent State Transport University). Currently, YKSUG cooperates with universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of 29 interuniversity agreements.

In the period from 2023 to 2025, in order to strengthen international cooperation, YKSUG was visited by delegations of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and representatives of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno participated in the International Forum "Women Chemists-2023" and the International Conference on Advanced Technologies in Engineering (ICATE 2025). In 2023-2025, Iryna Kiturka, Rector of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, visited the Belarusian-Uzbek Women's Business Forum twice and took part in the Second Forum of Professional and Higher Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In August 2024, Natalia Bashun, Vice-rector for Research at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, took part in the Belarusian-Uzbek Women's Business forum in Tashkent.

During the period of cooperation, joint internship programs were implemented, lectures, practical and seminar classes, scientific research and joint participation in cultural events were held. In 2024, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus took part in the graduation ceremony for graduates of the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of a joint educational program specializing in International law. The educational program was implemented within the framework of an agreement between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Tashkent State Law University.
