Faculty of Biology and Ecology of Yanka Kupala State University and Institute of Engineering and Technology (Ulaanbaatar) plan to develop joint research projects

The signing of the protocol of intent was held as part of the participation of Associate Professor of the Department of Technology, Physiology and Hygiene of Nutrition, Faculty of Biology and Ecology Oksana Pavlova at the International Diversified Exhibition “Ulaanbaatar Partnership” in the city of Ulan Bator (Mongolia).

Fifteen Belarusian enterprises and organizations of mechanical engineering, food industry, science and education presented their products and services at the exhibition as part of the National Exposition of the Republic of Belarus. Oksana Pavlova, Associate Professor of Technology, Physiology and Hygiene of Nutrition at the Faculty of Biology and Ecology, presented her own development of “Multifunctional Biosorbent” and Yanka Kupala Grodno State University. It is worth noting that the biosorbent is intended for use in local treatment facilities, in the production of cartridges for the treatment of drinking water and as a sorption material for the treatment of well water. As part of the participation in the exhibition, Oksana Pavlova visited the Ulan Bator Technological Institute, where she met with the leadership of the educational institution. The meeting ended with the signing of a protocol of intent between the Ulaanbaatar Technological Institute and the Yanka Kupala State University. The parties plan to implement a joint project in the development of beverage technology. In addition, during the trip, a representative of Kupalovsky University visited the international exhibition of educational services “International Education Expo 2019”. A meeting was held at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports of Mongolia with representatives of the leadership of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia and Mongolian universities. The prospects of scientific and technical cooperation in priority areas of scientific research were discussed with representatives of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, the Mongolian State University of Education, the National University of Mongolia, and the Mongolian Agricultural University. In addition, a meeting was held with the leadership and students of the Lyceum of the Ulan-Bator branch of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, at which Oksana Pavlova told the students about the educational and scientific potential of the Yanka Kupala State University. Kupalovsky University was also presented at the Mongolian-Belarusian business forum with the participation of more than 60 Mongolian companies. A meeting was held with the head of the Mongolian Foundation for Basic Research in Science and Technology O. Bilguun and a discussion of the possibility of submitting joint Belarusian-Mongolian scientific projects.

Faculty of Philology of Yanka Kupala State University develops cooperation with Smolensk State University

Irina Romanova, head of the department of literature and journalism at Smolensk State University, and Alla Radionova, assistant professor of literature and journalism, delivered online lectures for students and teachers of the Faculty of Philology.

Alla Radionova told the students our university about the metaphilosophical lyrics of the Silver Age. And Irina Romanova gave a lecture “Contemporary Russian Poetry and the Smolensk Poetic School” for students of the Faculty of Philology, as well as for participants and prize-winners of the international contest of creative projects “In my soul, poetry”. In her speech, the lecturer spoke about the main trends in modern Russian poetry and the Persona poetry studio, which has existed at the philological faculty of the SmolSU for more than 20 years and unites students and university staff, as well as poets of the region. As part of the online meeting, it was decided to develop contacts between students and teachers of the philological faculty of the Yanka Kupala State University with representatives of Persona in the field of educational, scientific and cultural activities. In addition, as part of the event, participants and prize-winners of the international contest of creative projects “In my soul, poetry” were awarded, in which students of the philological faculty and more than 100 students from schools in Grodno, and also students from Poland and Romania. The preparation and organization of the competition was carried out by associate professor of the Department of Russian Philology Olga Ioskevich. The contestants were invited to show their creative abilities in nine categories: “Acrostich”, “Centon”, “Author’s song”, “Figured verses”, “Poetic dialogue”, “Rhymes”, “Words”, “Let's laugh!” And “Recognition in love”. The most popular among the participants were the nominations “Acrostic”, “Words” and “Rhymes”. Most of the awards in the competition were students of secondary school No.6, gymnasium No.1 named after Academician E.F. Karsky, Lyceum No.1. Participants and winners of the competition were awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes. The events took place within the framework of the project “Russian Language and Literature as a Factor in the Unification of the Modern World”, with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. The executors of the project are the Department of Russian Philology. 

 

International exhibition of students and master students opened at the Faculty of Arts and Design Of Yanka Kupala State University

The opening of the exposition took place as part of the plein air “Grodno-Kalish-Olsztyn-2019”, which was held in Grodno as part of a cooperation agreement with the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznan and the University of Warmia and Mazury.

As a result of the open air in the educational building at the faculty of art and design, an exhibition of student and master works by three universities was opened. During the open-air, students, undergraduates and leaders got acquainted with the educational process of the faculty of art and design, visited the Museum of the History of Development of the Yanka Kupala State University , the UNIVERSUM gallery, the gallery of professors, as well as the historical and archaeological museum of Grodno, galleries and an exhibition hall. In addition, the Tizengauz Gallery hosted solo exhibitions by the Deputy Dean Professor Matei Guznicka of the Faculty of Art and Pedagogical, Professor of the Warmian-Masurian University Violetta Yaskulskaya and the Head of the Development Department of the University of Warmia-Mazuria Ivona Maria Bologinskaya-Walendik. Also, as part of the plein air at the Department of Fine Arts, a scientific and creative seminar “Fine Art and Design in the Conditions of Modern Cultural Development” was held, during which the parties discussed the holding of joint events in scientific, creative and innovative activities.

Yanka Kupala State University and Tashkent Institute of Design, Construction and Maintenance of Automotive Roads expand the areas of cooperation

On October 11, Alimjon Riskulov, rector of the Tashkent Institute of Design, Construction and Maintenance of Automotive Roads, visited Yanka Kupala State University.

The visit of the Tashkent Institute of Design, Construction and Maintenance of Automotive Roads rector Alimjon Riskulov and the dean of the faculty jointly with the Belarusian National Technical University under the 2 + 2 program Luiza Vildanova to Kupalov University began with a meeting with the leadership of Yanka Kupala State University. Today, Yanka Kupala State University is also open to international cooperation on the development of distance education, training specialists taking into account digitalization trends and the needs of the real sector of the economy. For many years Summer and Winter schools in various fields have been successfully held at Kupalovsky University, representatives of Uzbekistan can also become participants in them, as Irina Kiturko emphasized. Based on the results of meeting between the Yanka Kupala State University and the Tashkent Institute of Design, Construction and Maintenance of Automative Roads an agreement was signed. After that, the parties exchanged souvenirs and took a traditional photo as a keepsake. The visit of the representatives of Uzbekistan ended with a meeting with students of the Yanka Kupala State University, during which Alimjon Akhmadzhanovich talked about the university he leads, and answered students' questions. The guys were interested in what specialties can they enroll in magistracy in Uzbekistan, is there a possibility of obtaining practical knowledge at the country's enterprises and what qualities should have a future specialist in the field of logistics. At the end of the meeting, Alimjon Riskulov thanked Kupalovsky University for the warm greet and expressed hope for productive cooperation and for a meeting in the near future.

Representatives of Yanka Kupala state University of Grodno took part in the II world Congress in real and virtual mode "West-East: intersections of cultures" in Japan

The Congress was held on October 2 – 6, 2019 at Kyoto-Sange University (Kyoto, Japan). It was attended by 270 scientists from 34 countries.

The event was held as part of the international project "Creating a virtual scientific and educational space", organized by Kyoto Sangyo University (Japan, Kyoto), Middlebury College (USA, Vermont), Russian New University (Russia, Moscow), Linguistic University of Foreign Languages (China, Shanghai), Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University (Armenia, Yerevan), Shota Rustaveli State University (Georgia, Batumi). The project aims are to consolidate the intellectual efforts of representatives of numerous cultures in various fields of science and education for the integration of scientific and pedagogical potential, identification and comprehensive analysis of current problems in the humanitarian sphere, as well as the creation of an innovative intercultural educational and scientific environment. The scientific forum discussed such issues as innovations in philological science, literary aspects of interaction between Western and Eastern cultures, problems of bilingual education, intercultural communication, theory and practice of translation, methods of teaching foreign languages, introduction of information technologies in the educational environment and others. Irina Banah, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Philology, made a presentation at the Congress "Elusive Japan: images of the Other in P. Weil's travel essay "Everything is in the garden". The speech Zoya Sidorovich, Aassociate Professor of the Department of Russian Philology, was devoted to theoretical and practical problems of development of electronic educational and methodical complex of discipline in higher school. The program of the creative lounge "Belarus is the crossroads of national cultures" includes an interactive round table "Calendar of National Holidays", the participants of which will discuss the traditions of national holidays, their history, national dishes, clothes and traditional games. During the intellectual game “Brain Ring” participants will open the theme “Belarus is the wonderful world!”. University teams will answer questions on geography, culture, traditions, famous personalities of Belarus and other nationalities. The concert “Polyphony of National Cultures” will end the day. Students of Yanka Kupala state University have visited Volkswagen plant in Kaluga

Students of the Faculty of Innovative Mechanic Engineering took part in the excursion to the Volkswagen Group Rus plant, which is located in the Grabtsevo Technopark in Kaluga.

Currently, Volkswagen and ŠKODA automobile production, as well as a gas engine production plant, are located on the territory of the enterprise. The automobile plant produces Volkswagen Tiguan, Volkswagen Polo and ŠKODA RAPID models. The maximum production capacity of the plant is 225 thousand cars per year. Alexander Kazmin, senior lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Technical Operation of Cars, told that the trip allowed to acquire unique knowledge on the subject "Technology of production and repair of cars". Students visited the car body production workshop, where the car body is assembled from stamped blanks by spot and semi-automatic welding. They learned about the methods of optimization and improving the comfort of employees, observed the process of painting individual parts and the body as a whole. The children were able to see the work of the assembly shop, where, unlike other workshops, manual labor predominates in order to improve and control the quality of products. The last point of the tour was a visit to the engine production workshop. Students learned about quality standards and product control, as well as methods of transporting parts received from partner manufacturers to the place of their installation, saw the parking of finished cars and a test track to check the quality of the assembly of the suspension and brake system. In addition, as part of the trip, students from Yanka Kupala State University visited the Konstantin E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics. The students were especially interested in the full-size model of the Soyuz-1 space station, as well as the real capsules on which the astronauts returned from orbit to the earth.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was approved as a permanent member of the Council of the International Belt-and-Road Alliance of Tropical Medicine (Haikou, China)

Kupala University became a permanent member of BRTMA at the invitation of the President of Hainan medical University in the framework of the II Forum on tropical medicine.

Andrey Shpakov, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture, presented at the forum the results of cooperation in a joint research work “Pathogenesis and epidemiology of chronic lung diseases in the temperate continental climate in Eastern Europe and tropical marine climate in East Asia”. The work was carried out by the research teams of Hainan University in Haikou and Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno with the support of the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. It should be noted that the results of the two-year joint work are known in the scientific world, published in the leading rating scientific journals of Belarus and China, as well as presented at international scientific conferences. During the meetings and negotiations at the forum, they expressed confidence that international scientific cooperation within the framework of the Alliance will soon bring tangible results in the form of new grants for joint scientific research of the participating countries, conferences and exchange of scientists. Hainan Medical University initiated the creation of the Belt-and-Road Alliance of Tropical Medicine on the proposal of the World Health Organization for the prevention of respiratory diseases and tropical diseases, as well as within the strategy to expand cooperation in the field of medicine among countries and regions united by the concept of Belt and Road Initiative. The concept of Belt and Road Initiative put forward by Chinese President XI Jinping calls for strengthening cultural and scientific exchanges and ties between different countries, as well as promoting the sustainable development of the participating countries.

Professors and students of the law faculty of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took part in the international forum in Germany

The scientific forum was held on October 18-19 in the German city of Nuremberg.

The annual conference “Nuremberg Principles Beyond the International Criminal Court: A Common Basis for Responsibility” was attended by Grigory Tretyakov, associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law, Process and Criminalistics of the Law Faculty, Natalya Gabets, senior lecturer of the Department of International Law, Maria Solodovnik, Evgenia Romanyuk, Karolina Zakharenko, fourth-year students. The event was held in the historic hall of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice in Nuremberg, Germany. The forum provided a comprehensive overview of the situation in the activities of international criminal justice, analyzed the main theoretical views and practices in the field of international criminal law. Leading international experts and practitioners working in the field of internation;al criminal justice spoke at the conference. It was possible to attend the event due to the organizational and financial support of the Mobility Scheme for Targeted People-to-People-Contacts MOST.
